ADMISSION

Children come for an initial visit with their parents when they are shown around the Nursery and introduced to staff. This first visit lasts around 15 minutes and during this time we discuss with the parents the date and length of time of the next visit - which would normally be when the child is accompanied by a parent or carer for approximately an hour. The next visit is normally when the child would be left at Nursery for the first time without their parent/carer. This visit also lasts approximately one hour. Each child will have the same first three visits which are used by staff and parents to arrange a 'build-up' period before the child starts its normal hours. This period is individual to each child but may also depend on parents work commitments. If a child requires more visits, then this is arranged with parents.

WHAT YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO BRING TO NURSERY

Change of clothes and indoor shoes. During summer months – Sun Cream and Sun Hats During winter months – warm coat, hats and gloves Nappies are not supplied by nursery

SNACKS AND MEALS

A daily snack and lunch menu are on display in the cloakroom area on the Parent’s Notice Board. Our qualified Nursery Cook provides a variety of fresh 'home made' lunches each day. A.m. and p.m. snacks always include a selection of fruits along with a range of crackers, bread etc.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND SICKNESS

The Nursery cannot supply any medication. Medication brought to Nursery must be clearly labeled with the child's name and dose required. A qualified staff member administers all medication. Each dose recorded and signed in our Medication Log. Medicine must be prescribed by a doctor. BEHAVIOUR

Staff will promote positive behaviour in the playroom - taking care of friends, equipment etc. and by providing support and encouraging children in their achievements.
